Lakshadweep islands are a group of islands situated at a distance of about 300 kms into the arabian sea from kerala. The total land mass from these group of islands will be around 31.73 sq. kms. Lakshadweep is full of lagoons and coral reefs. These islands are famous for their palm trees. The people living in these islands are classified into three groups, land owners, sailors and farmers.

The important thing we need know before going to lakshadweep is that, only few islands are open for tourists. We need to get a special permit for visiting Lakshadweep through the tour operators. Moreover, the tourists are allowed to stay only in some of the exclusive hotels.

Transport ::

Flights are available from kochi to Agatti island. From there boat services are available to the rest of the islands.

Touring Spots ::

Bangaram Island : This island is spread over an area of 127 acres and is made of only sand. Some of the activities allowed here are diving,snorkelling,deep-sea fishing and sailing.

Agatti Island : This island contains mostly of muslim population and has several mosques. It is spread over an area of about 2.7 sq. kms . Alcohol is strictly prohibited in this island and carrying it or consuming it is an offense.

Some of the other islands are Kadmat island and Minicoy island.

Mananchira square in calicut has been the courtyard of the Zamorins.  Calicut has a pleasant beach that is not much crowded . Some of the religious places found in calicut are the Tali Temple inside which only Hindus are allowed, the Church of South India and the Kutiichira Mosque.

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary conserves many wild animals here.
